2 cups cake flour
1 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/3 cups sugar
2 eggs (unbeaten)
2 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour once, measure, add soda and salt, and sift together three times.

Cream shortening, add sugar gradually and cream until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.

Add chocolate.

Add flour alternately with milk, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition. Add vanilla.
