1 c. quick oats
2 c. boiling water
1 package yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1/3 c. honey
1 tbsp. butter or oil
2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
5 1/2 c. flour
Milk and oats for top

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over oats and let sit for 15 minutes or until lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water; let stand for 5 minutes. Add honey, butter, and salt to oat mixture. Add yeast mixture. Add egg and flour. Turn out and knead 2 minutes. Cover and let rest 10 minutes. Knead 12-15 strokes until dough is elastic but still sticky. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until double. Punch down and turn out. Divide in half and form loaves. Cover and let rise. Brush with milk and oats. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes.
