Ingredients:
1 cup scalded milk (bring to almost boiling stage)
2 Tbsp. sugar
2-1/2 tsp. salt
6 Tbsp. shortening
1 pkg. yeast
1 cup warm water
6 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk and stir in the sugar, salt and shortening. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water and stir into the first mixture. Add 3 cups of the flour and beat until smooth. Add remaining flour, a little at a time, blending completely. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured board and knead until elastic, adding a little more flour if necessary. Put the dough in a greased bowl, cover with dish cloth and place in a warm spot to rise for about an hour or until double in size. Punch down and divide in half. Shape each half into a round loaf and put into a greased 8-inch round pan to rise for another hour or until double in size. Bake at 400-degrees for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
