3 lbs lean stew meat or round steak
1 small kidney
1 onion
salt & pepper
beef oxo - 2 or 3 cubes or tsps. (if using cut back on salt a little)
Pastry (either puff pastry or plain)

Directions:
Directions:
Cut meat & kidney in cubes. (If you don't like kidney just make a steak pie). Be sure to rinse kidney first. Brown onion & meats in small amount of oil. Let pan get brownish on bottom but not burnt. Add enough water to cover meat. Add oxo & salt & pepper. Simmer for a couple of hours until meat is tender. Thicken gravy slightly with cornstarch mixed with a little water. Let cool. After cooled spoon meat into pie plates & cover with either kind of pastry. Bake in 400 degree oven for approx 30 minutes until pastry is golden brown.
