Ingredients:
1 lb. butter
1 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
3 1/2 - 4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Have butter soft. Start with 3 cups flour. Mix butter into sugar, flour, salt mixture with pastry cutter or fingers. Continue to mix with fingers until a soft pliable dough is formed. Add remaining flour as necessary to achieve the right consistency of dough. Roll dough approx. 1/4" thick (not too thin) & cut with cookie cutters. I use a simple round one. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 350 degrees for 15-20 min.

Personal Notes:
Passed down over the years. I learned how to make this as a young "lass" with my Mom. And yes, I was a young "lass" once! Best shortbread I have found!
