1 gallon strained fat
1 box Lewis Lye
1 quart rain water
2 tbsp Mule Team Borax

Directions:
Directions:
Put water in stone jar. Add lye. Let cool. Melt fat, strain. When lukewarm add borax to fat and then put the two together till of honey consistency. Pour into mold. Any box about 1 1/2 inch high. Cut when nearly set into desired size. A few drops of oil of sassafras may be added for fragrance.
