1 pound unsalted butter
1/2 pound Crisco
1/3 cup powdered sugar
3 egg yolks
1/2 cup brandy or scotch
1/2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanillin(Greek) or regular vanilla
1/2 cup crushed almonds toasted
all purpose flour, enough to make soft dough
rose water to spray finished cookies
1 pound powdered sugar

Mix butter and Crisco until soft and white. Add remaining ingredients. Add flour to make soft dough. Take out and form small round flat cookies by hand. Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and spray baked cookies with rose water and sprinkle powdered sugar on top..When cookies are cool, sprinkle powdered sugar until they are all covered. Store in closed container.
