1/2 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup dark corn syrup
3 large eggs
3 squares (3 oz.) unsweetened chocolate melted
1 1/4 cup unsifted flour
1 cup coarsely broken pecans or walnuts

Directions:

In a medium mixing bowl, with a wooden spoon, thoroughly beat together the butter, sugars and corn syrup. Stir in eggs, one at a time, then chocolate and finally the flour, just until combined. Stir in nutmeats. Turn into an ungreased 9-inch square pan and bake in a preheated 350º F oven for 35 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Place on wire rack to cool. When partly cool, loosen edges; cool completely before cutting into squares.
