1 1/2 c. wild rice
1 lb bacon (cut up into bite size pieces)
1 onion
3 stalks of celery
1 can of mushrooms (can use fresh)
salt & pepper
seasoning salt

Directions:
Directions:
Place wild rice in pot and cover with cold water uncovered. Bring to a boil then drain. Cover the wild rice with about 6 cups of cold water and bring to a boil. Boil for approximately 1/2 hour. Continue to cook rice until it "bursts".

Fry bacon, onions celery and mushrooms. Add rice and season to taste.

I watched Bernice make this and although the recipes does not call for butter, I saw her slip some into the bacon mixture! This is the secret ingredient, I am sure of it!!!
