Ingredients: 2 Tbs. active dry yeast 1 c. warm water 2 Tbs. sugar 1/2 c. oil 1 1/2 c. scalded milk 2 eggs, beaten 1/4 c. sugar 2 tsp. salt 6-7 c. flour

Directions:Sprinkle 2 Tbs. sugar over yeast and water, stir and let it sit. In a separate bowl, scald milk (about 4 min. in microwave) then cool a little and add the oil, 1/4 c. sugar and 2 tsp. salt. Stir in 1 cup of flour, then the 2 beaten eggs. Add the yeast mixture and then stir in 5-6 more cups of flour, stirring after each cup. Don’t add too much flour as the dough should be very soft and fairly sticky. Cover and raise for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours until double in size. Roll out and shape rolls. Let rise again. Preheat oven to 425º F Bake rolls for 10-12 minutes. |

Notes: You can also use this dough for some amazing cinnamon rolls! Follow the directions above for roll dough. After the dough rises the first time, divide in half and roll dough on generously floured surface into a rectangle about 17×9 inches and 1/2 inch thick. Melt 1/2 stick butter and spread on rectangle. Sprinkle with brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Roll up from short edge. Slice (electric knife or thread). Repeat with other half of dough. Put on greased cookie sheet and cover with towel. Let raise again (45 minutes to 1 hour). Bake one sheet at a time at 425º F for 10-12 minutes (until browned but not too brown on top). Drizzle icing (see Honey Bun Cake recipe) over top or brush it on while hot.
