1 c. Crisco
1 c. Sugar
2 c. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 c. Oatmeal
1/2 c. Sour Cream or Buttermilk

Directions:

Chill dough, roll out thin, and cut into circles. Bake at 400º for 5-6 minutes.

Put filling of dates between two cookies as you use them. Otherwise, they'll get soggy.

Sometimes Grandma made them with raisin filling. I'm not fond of dates, but somehow it compliments the cookie. I wonder what else would taste good.
