Directions:
Mix together by hand all cake ingredients. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes. For the icing, boil all ingredients for 1 minute. Beat with electric mixer until cool (may set pan in a pan of ice water while mixing). Poke holes in cake with fork while still warm. Pour icing over the cake. Serve in a bowl with sweetened sliced fresh peaches and half and half.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Almost always served with peaches and half and half. Mom would put up peaches each summer so that we could have them with cake in the winter. Every once in a while she would serve it with ice cream if she had no peaches. Mom always got a hug and kiss from Samuel when dessert involved the ingredient chocolate!
