onion

corned beef (fresh brisket or canned)
butter
salt
pepper
cayenne pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion in butter in stockpot. Peel and slice potatoes. Put potatoes in stockpot and cover with water. Boil about 20 minutes until tender. Add corned beef and cook until tender. Smash soup with a potato masher. Add water until consistency that you prefer. Add salt, pepper and cayenne pepper to taste.

This is an old Callis family recipe. I loved this soup as a child and still do. I don't know why it is called corn willy stew but I wish I did. I do not have ingredients measurements because I never really use an exact amount and you can't really mess it up. If you are on a budget, use the canned corned beef, if not, splurge and use a fresh brisket.
