1 angel food cake
1 quart vanilla ice cream,softened

Sauce
1 cup sugar
1/4 pound butter
2 egg yolks, beaten
1 cup Sherry

Directions:
Directions:
Early in day, split cake in half horizontally, packing well with ice cream. Fill in hole with ice cream also. Freeze

Sauce
Cream butter and sugar well. Melt slowly over low heat. Add yolks a little at a time, stirring constantly.

In a thin stream add Sherry. Continue stirring over lowest heat until sauce is well blended and thick. Cool

At beginning of meal, remove cake from freezer, placing in refrigerator.
to serve, pour sauce over cake, as much as it will absorb. Slice and serve.

Remaining sauce may be served fwith cake.

For extra moistness, 1/2-1 cup of Sherry may be poured overr bottom half of cake before filling with ice cream. I ALWAYS DO THIS!!! and make a day ahead! Soooo Gooood
