1 cup shortening (part butter)
1 lb. brown sugar
2 eggs
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar, and eggs. Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda. Blend in nuts. Form into 2 rolls with a 2 inch diameter. Wrap in wax paper. Chill overnight. Cut into 1/8 inch thick slices. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400º for 8 to 10 minutes.
