2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 tsp. salt
1tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda

2 ice cream pails of popped popcorn

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first four ingredients in 2 quart sauce pan. Bring to a boil, but for no longer than 5 minutes. Stir constantly.

Take off heat and add soda and vanilla.

Put one pail of popcorn in roaster. Pour on 1/2 liquid and mix.
Pour in last pail of popcorn and remainder of liquid. Mix.

Bake 1 hour at 250º. Stir every 15 minutes.

Cool and stir in roaster. Break apart into desired size pieces and put on cookie sheets to fully cool.

- when shopping, the cheapest items will be on the top and bottom shelves, not at eye level
- peppers with three bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating. Peppers with four bumps are firmer and better for cooking
