1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375.
Cream butter and add sugar. Add remaining ingredients.
Roll a generous tablespoon of dough into a ball and place on greased cookie sheet. Press down with glass dipped in sugar until about 1/4 inch thick.
Bake for 10 minutes. The glass is less likely to stick if you press the mound of dough slightly with your fingers first.
Allow cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for five minutes before removing.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe was found in my grandmother's recipe box and likely was from Mona Hoffman. They do spread when cooking, so limit the number of cookies on each cookie sheet.
