2 cup flour
2 tbsp. baking powder
½ tsp. cream of tartar
½ tsp. sugar
½ tsp. salt
½ cup cold butter, cubed
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
⅓ cup chopped green onions
1 cup milk

Topping:
2 tbsp. butter, melted
¼ tsp. garlic powder

Preheat oven to 450ºF. Line a large baking sheet with preachment paper.

In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, sugar and salt. Using two knives cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in cheese and green onions. Slowly add milk, stirring with a fork, until batter reaches a soft dough consistency.

On a lightly floured surface knead dough gently 3 - 4 times until it holds together. Divide into 12 balls, flatten to 2cm thickness. Place at least 2 in. apart on baking sheet.

Topping: In a small bowl combine butter and garlic powder, brush biscuits with mixture.

Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
