2 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. slat
1 1/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups applesauce
1/2 cup milk
1 cup raisins
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
powdered sugar

Directions:

In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt. Beat sugar and butter in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs and applesauce. Gradually add flour mixture alternately with milk until well blended. Stir in raisins and nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 baking pan. Bake at 350º for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes our clean. Cool cake in pan on a wire rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
