3 sticks butter or margarine
2 1/2 C. sugar
4 eggs
1 C. buttermilk
4 C. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. lemon flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º.

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Combine salt and baking soda to flour - mix well. Add milk and flour mix into egg mixture. Grease and flour a tube pan or lamb cake mold. Make sure to heavily grease the lamb mold to insure perfect release. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes. Cool and frost.

This was Mom's Easter masterpiece! She would always frost the cooled lamb with white frosting and sprinkle coconut over lamb. Then she'd add inverted chocolate chips for eyes and a piece of cherry for a little nose. And green food coloring turned coconut into grass sprinkled around the lamb. It was always such a nice treat for Easter!
