1 1/2 C. butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 C. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
3 egg yolks
3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
3 C. flour
3/4 tsp. salt

3 egg whites, beaten
finely chopped walnuts
chopped sweetened coconut

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º.

Mix in order given. Roll into walnut-sized balls and roll in slightly beaten egg whites, then dip in chopped walnuts or coconut. Put on cookie sheet and press down center with your thumb. Bake about 12 minutes.
