1 C. butter
1 1/2 C. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 C. sifted flour
2 t. baking powder

Mix dough and stick the whole thing into the icebox (fridge) overnight.

Preheat oven to 350º.
Divide dough into 4 pieces and roll each into a silver dollar size log. Wrap in plastic wrap and tin foil and freeze. When completely frozen, slice thin - about 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch, according to Kay Cutler. Lay on cookie sheet. Use a pastry brush to paint on egg wash, then sprinkle very finely crushed pecans.. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes, but watch them carefully as they will burn!
