2 lb. beef roast, cut in 1in. pieces
1 Tbsp. oil
1 Tbsp. butter
1 onion, chopped
1 can beef consomme
1 can water
1/2 c. cooking wine
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
4 oz. mushrooms
dash of garlic salt
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oil and butter in skillet. Brown salt and peppered meat. Add onion, consomme, can of water, wine, soy sauce, mushrooms, garlic salt. Simmer covered 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Mix cornstarch with 1/4 c. water. Add to skillet and thicken sauce. Serve over rice or noodles.
