1 c. butter (softened)
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1/2 T. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t salt

Topping:
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 t. cinnamon
2 T. brown sugar
Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the butter, sugar, and eggs. Add next the sour cream and vanilla. Add and beat well the flour, baking powder, and salt (which have been sifted together).

Place batter in a "pam" sprayed 9' x 13" pan.

Mix together the topping ingredients. Spread on top of coffee cake.
(I always double the topping).
Bake in a 350 degree oven approx. 45 min until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

I never really thought about associating a recipe with a person until Sept. 11th. I never now not think of Justin when I use the french press, Matthew when I think of Thanksgiving and his birthday and Hershey Derby Pie, Mom and Anne--spaghetti and meatballs, Anne--coffee and Key Lime Pie, Mom--anything and everything chocolate, Dad and his Mom's recipe of Mincemeat Pie with hard sauce and salads with lots of onions and his own garden grown tomatoes and green beans, Tom -- pumpkin pie, his Grandmother Whittington's homemade rolls, late night runs to DiCarlo's Pizza with his Dad, and Will--Uncle Bill's Champion Chili, London Broil, green bean salad,and chocolate chip pie.
