Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. scalded milk
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. margarine
1 egg
2 Tbsp. yeast
1/3 c. water
5 1/2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Put milk into a glass measuring cup and heat in microwave until a slight scum appears on top. Put sugar, salt, and margarine into a large mixing bowl. Pour scalded milk over and stir until margarine is melted. Dissolve yeast in 1/3 c. warm water. Add eggs to milk mixture and stir in yeast mixture. Sift flour into mixture a little at a time. When it gets too hard to stir, turn out on pastry board and continue to knead and add flour until you have a soft dough. Put in a large bowl to raise. Rub butter over the top to keep it from drying out. Cover with a towel and let rise about 1 1/2 hours or until double. Punch down and shape into rolls and place in a baking pan. Let rise again about 45 minutes. Bake at 350º for 15 to 20 minutes depending on the size of the rolls.

Personal Notes:
I started making these in 4-H and still make them for family get togethers and our church Christmas dinner.
