2 c. sugar
2 c. raisins
2 c. water
1 c. butter
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, raisins, water, and butter. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Add raisin mixture and beat until blended. Fold in pecans. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan and bake at 350º for 45-55 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely.

This cake is similar to the old fashion plum pudding. You can make any pudding dip to put on it. Carol's favorite is 1 c. boiling water, 1/2 c. sugar, 2 Tbsp. butter, 2 tsp. vanilla, and 1 Tbsp. cornstarch. Bring to a boil and cook until thickened.
