2 eggs
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. vinegar
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. shortening
3 melted chocolate squares

Directions:
Directions:
Beat the eggs and sugar together for one minute.
Sift together and add flour, baking soda, salt.
In a separate bowl, combine vinegar, milk and vanilla.
Add 1/2 of the liquid mixture and the shortening and beat vigorously for one minute.
Add remaining liquid and melted chocolate squares. Beat for one minute.
Pour into 2 well greased 8" layer pans 1 1/4" deep.
Bake at 350º for 30 minutes.
