8 oz. salt cod(soaked in water 24 hrs., drained and rinsed), cut into small chunks
2 potatoes, peeled and diced
1 onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 large carrot, sliced
2 cups fish stock, or more if needed
1 cup water
1 cup milk
1 tsp. capers
2 or 3 slices bacon, chopped
2 tbsp. butter

Directions:
Directions:
In large saucepan, saute onions in butter until clear. Add rest of ingredients except milk and capers. Cook and cover at low to medium heat until potatoes are done, about 1 hour. Add milk and capers, simmer until thickened a little. You can add flour/water mix to thicken more. Pepper to taste

NOTE: soak and drain the salt cod a couple of times during the 24 hrs. Helps reduce salt content.
