2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 egg yolks
2 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
grated zest of one orange or lemon zest or peppermint extract

Cream the butter and sugar. Add remaining ingredients and mix until just combined. Roll on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 375º for about 10 minutes.

These quickly became our favorite sugar cookie the first time Ashley made them for us! They make great Christmas cookies or any occasion you might want a decorated cookie like Valentines Day. We have also glazed them and added fresh fruit for weddings and showers.
