6 eggs
pinch salt
1 quart homogenized milk
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
3 pints half and half cream

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs thoroughly, add salt and sugar gradually. Add vanilla and milk. Mix thoroughly. Pour into ice cream freezer and add half & half. It freezes faster if you chill the mixture a few hours before freezing in the ice cream maker. Makes 1 gallon.

Note from Sharon: This is an older recipe that is not cooked before freezing. Currently it is recommended to cook mixture to avoid using raw eggs.
