3 pounds ground beef
2 T. mustard
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 cups ketchup
diced onion
1 tsp. vinegar
3 T. brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Brown ground beef and onions. Drain. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until ready to use. Serve on hamburger buns.

Note: Taverns are loose meat sandwiches similar to Sloppy Joes. Tavern sandwiches are a regional favorite in Northwest Iowa.
