2 c butter
8 c flour
1 tsp salt
4 eggs
2 c sugar
1/2 c milk
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º.
Cut butter into flour as in pastry and add salt.
Combine eggs and sugar and beat well. Combine, milk, vanilla, and baking soda. Add to flour mixture and mix well.
Roll out 1/4 inch thick and cut with fancy cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes. If thin cookies are made, bake only 7-9 minutes or until just starting to turn brown.
When cool frost with sugar icing and sprinkle with colored sugar; or if desired, sprinkle with color sugar before baking.
