1 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2/3 c. baking cocoa
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp.salt
powdered sugar
chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each egg. Beat in the vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa,soda. and salt and gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips if using. Cover and refrigerate for one hour. Roll into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Flatten with a fork. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Dust warm cookies with powdered sugar.
