1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening/butter
1 egg
1 1/2 c. milk (or cream and omit shortening)
3/4 c. raisins
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Cream sugar and shortening, add egg beat together, stir in milk (or cream)
Mix in raisins, flour, b.p., salt.
Should be like a stiff dough

Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400ºF. until nicely browned.
