3 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. fat ( butter preferred)
1 egg beaten in 1c.water & 1 c. milk (warm)
4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. raisins
1 tbsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. instant yeast

Put ingredients in bread machine in order given. Put on dough setting. Turn out, punch down, cut dough in two, let rest for 10 min.If baking loaves, roll into rectangle, roll up like a jelly roll. Let rise until double in bulk. Bake for 25 minutes at 375ºF. If baking buns, cut into 20-24 pieces, shape, let rise; bake for 15 minutes at 375ºF. Brush buns and loaves with glaze of a mixture of 1 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp water (heated). Brush on top and then return to oven for 1 minute to dry glaze.Makes 2 loaves or 20-24 buns.
