1/3 cup soft shortening
1/3 cup butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla

1 ½ cups flour
½ tsp soda
½ tsp salt

½ cup chopped walnuts
1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350-375˚F. Mix first ingredients. Stir next set of ingredients in another bowl. Mix dry into wet ingredients. Thoroughly work in walnuts and chocolate pieces. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
