1 c. hamburg

1 finely chopped medium—sized onion

1 C. coarse #3 birghul (Bulgar is wheat that is parboiled.)

˝ tsp. salt

˝ tsp. allspice

pepper to taste

1 chicken bouillon cube

l 1/2 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Brown the hamburg lightly until a little juice forms. Add butter if the meat is lean. Add onion and cook until it’s transparent. Don’t brown. Wash and drain birghul.
Put it over the onion and meat mixture. Add seasonings and 1 ˝ cups of water. Cook until the water is absorbed or about 20 minutes on medium heat.

Serve with lubin (yogurt).

If you prefer more birghul, just add another 1/4 cup. In addition, add another 1/2 cup of water.
