6 oz. Chocolate Chips
1/4 cup Water
2-1/4 cup sifted flour.
1 tsp Baking Soda
3/4 tsp. Salt
1 3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cup softened Butter
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup water

CREAMY WHITE FROSTING
3/4 cup Milk
3 tablespoons Flour
1 ½ sticks Butter
¾ cup Sugar
1 ½ tsp Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Place chocolate pieces and 1/4 cup water in saucepan (or in microwave). Stir till melted and smooth. Remove from heat.

Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

Combine in bowl: sugar, butter, vanilla. Beat till well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Blend in melted chocolate. Stir in flour mixture alternately with 1 cup water.

Pour into two prepared 9 inch layer cake pans. (I line pans with waxed paper cut to fit pan.)
Bake in 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes. Cool on rack for several minutes before removing from pan.

FROSTING: Mix milk and flour and cook over low flame until thick. COOL.

Beat butter 4 minutes in bowl. Add sugar and beat 4 minutes. Add flour mixture and vanilla: beat 4 minutes
