1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 eggs, well beaten
1-1/3 cups sour milk
2 cups cooked prunes
3 cups flour
1 tsp. each: salt, baking soda and baking powder
1/2 tsp. each: cinnamon, allspice and nutmet
1 cup each: chopped walnuts, pecans and sliced almonds

Frosting:
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. prune juice
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Cake:
Stew pitted prunes in just enough water to cover for approximately one hour on low heat. (A small package of prunes will make two cups when cooked.) Remove from heat and drain, but reserve liquid for frosting. Cream shortening with sugar. Add four eggs, well beaten, the milk and prunes. Mix in 3 cups of soften flour, salt, soda, baking power and spices. Add nuts. Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350º F. for one hour. Let cool and then frost.
Frosting:
Combine dry ingredients, add softened butter, prune juice and lemon juice. Mix well.
