1/3 Cup Shortening (or Margarine)
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Egg
2/3 Cup Honey or Molasses
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Ginger
2 3/4 Cup Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt

1. Mix together all ingredients. Stir until thoroughly combined. Cover and chill in refrigerator for 1 hour.

2. Preheat Oven to 375º.

3. Roll dough out until 1/4 inch thick. Cut desired shapes.

4. Place 1" apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until no imprint remains when touched lightly.

5. Wait until cookies are thoroughly cooled before decorating.
