6 ears sweet white corn (fresh)
1-2 tbsp. butter*
1-2 tbsp. bacon drippings*
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2-3 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 cup water

*If ears are large, you may need the larger quantity of butter and bacon drippings, as noted above.

Cut corn from cob and scrape cobs. Over medium heat, place butter and bacon drippings in medium-size saucepan. Allow to melt. Add the corn kernels to the pan. Mix together salt, pepper, sugar and flour; stir into corn mixture. Add about 1/2 cup water and mix well. When corn come to a boil, lower heat and simmer, covered, until done. It should take no more than 10 minutes.
