"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

1 or more energetic Kid(s)
Toys to use to play in dirt
Large serving spoon
Plastic water pitcher

Directions:
Kids, like plants need dirt & water to grow. Allow the kid(s) to periodically play outside in the dirt. Give them an old plastic pitcher to put water in & a large spoon to make mud pies, small forts, roads for cars, or whatever they want to do. Let them pour dirt and water in their hair, on themselves, etc. They will become very dirty and you can spray the mud out of their clothing after playtime. Let them have playing in dirt toys that can be left outside for each occasion. They will enjoy this playtime and want to do it quite often, especially in the Summer. When playtime is over, undress them on the porch and give them a bath. When it rains, kids like to splash in the puddles and now days there are mud shoes (Nathaniel's name for croc type rubber shoes) that they can wear to splash in the mud puddles.
In the Winter time, dress them warmly and let them play in the snow. Remember, "KIDS NEED DIRT & WATER TO GROW & BUILD UP THEIR IMMUNITY".

Personal Notes:
I read this recipe for dirty kids some years ago and wrote what I could remember. it's okay to let them be kids and be dirty now & then. It's actually good for them.
