Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 pkg. medium size pinto beans
1 large onion
2- 3 strips of bacon (cut into small pieces)
1 lb. ground beef
1 small can tomato sauce
Dash of garlic salt
Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Clean beans thoroughly, rinsing several times until water is clear & clean. Soak over night. The next day, do not change the water, (vitamins are in the water) add chopped onion and bacon pieces to beans. Bring it to a boil, turn heat down to medium and let beans cook at a slow boil for several hrs. or until it's very soft, stir occasionally during cooking process. Add more water to bean as the water evaporates. Then, brown & cook ground beef in a frying pan, add garlic salt & pepper. Drain grease from beef and add it to beans with a small can of tomato sauce. Let it boil for a few minutes longer to absorb flavors of ingredients.

Serving with oven bread, tortillas, or rolls would be good.

Another pinto beans recipe! I have also cooked the beans over night in a large crock pot when it was needed fresh the next day. Then, all you have to do is cook beef and add it to the beans with tomato sauce. I make a pot of beans often and freeze it in small containers and always have beans on hand. (my favorite food)
