12 Italian Plums, or other fruit
1/4 c. Butter, melted
2 c. Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon

1/4 c. Butter
2 Eggs, beaten
8 tsp. Sugar
1/4 c. Cream

Directions:
Directions:
Grease bottoms of two 9-in. pie plates. Roll out dough to fit pie plates. Cut plums into halves and remove pits. Arrange cut side up, completely covering dough. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and dot with butter. Cover and let rise until almost doubled.

Bake at 375º for 25 minutes. Then pour mixture of eggs, sugar, and cream over plums and continue baking 15 minutes longer.

This is an approximation of a recipe made by the Wiebe family. There are other variations. Grandma Wiebe made it when we visited the farm, and she also made it with prunes and apricots. Of course, she never measured anything, and I never saw her make it. Because they had dairy cows, they always had a supply of fresh cream.
