Sift together:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
In a saucepan, place:
1 stick butter
1 cup Wesson or peanut oil
4 level T. cocoa or 5 heaping T Nestles Quick
1 cup hot water
Bring to a rapid boil and pour over the sugar/flour
mixture. Mix well. Add:
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
1t. vanilla
1 t. soda
1/2 t. cinnamon
Mix well and pour into well-greased and floured jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 - 45 minutes
Icing: Start five minutes before the cake is done. In a saucepan, add:
3/4 stick butter
4 T cocoa or 5 heaping T Nestles Quick
6 T. milk
Heat and pour over a 1-lb. box of powdered sugar with:
1 T. vanilla
Mix well and add:
1 cup chopped pecans.
Mix again and spread over the cake while it is still hot.
