7 1/2 c flour 3 3/4 c flour
1 2/3 c sugar 1/2 c + 1/3 c
1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp vanilla
4 whole eggs 2 eggs
4 egg yolks only 2 egg yolks
1 3/4 c warm milk 1/2 c + 1/3 c warm milk
1 cup crisco 1/2 c crisco
3 1/2 tbsp baking ammonia 1 3/4 tbsp ammonia

Icing
1 2/3 c water
1 cup sugar
boil these for 20 min

Directions:
Directions:
On a board, rub crisco with flour, add sugar and vanilla. Make a well in the mixture. Add ammonia in the warm milk, add beaten eggs. Slowly pour this into a well of dry mixture and work with hands til it is a soft doughy consistency. Sprinkle a little flour under the dough, cut in small pieces with a knife, roll a bit with hands then twist. Put on a greased pan. Bake at 375º til golden brown.

Dip hands in a little milk or oil if dough sticks to your hands.

Icing:
Put sugar in a bowl add grated lemon rind from one lemon and a few drops from the lemon. Stir this mixture into the water/ sugar mixture. Should be a runny consistency. Using a spoon drizzle this onto cooled cookies. This icing will stiffen when dry.
