•3 cups sugar
• 1 cup whipping cream
• 3 ounces chocolate, unsweetened
• dash of salt
• 2 teaspoons corn syrup
• 3 tablespoons butter
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
• 3/4 cup pecans

Directions:
Directions:
•Butter sides of a 3-quart pan.

• Combine sugar, cream, chocolate, salt and corn syrup in a pot. Heat over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves, the chocolate melts and mix comes to boiling.

• Cook to soft-ball stage (about 234 degrees F). Stir only if necessary. Immediately remove from the heat.

• Add the butter and cool to lukewarm (110 degrees F) without stirring.

• Add vanilla and pecans and beat until thick. Spread in a buttered shallow pan. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
