- makes about 10 cups -
8 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped)
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
6 tbsp margarine or butter
3 tbsp light corn syrup
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Spread popcorn out in a 17x12x2 baking pan, set aside

For caramel mixture:
In a heavy medium saucepan combine the brown sugar, margarine or butter, corn syrup and salt
Cook and continually stir over medium heat till mixture starts to boil
Continue to cook for 5 minutes
Remove mixture from heat and pour over popcorn

Bake at 300º for 15 minutes
Stir popcorn and bake for another 5-10 minutes until popcorn is completely coated
Gently stir in 1 cup peanuts (optional)
Turn caramel popcorn out onto foil and let cool
Break into 1" pieces
Store in containers
