Fresh NC Mountain Stayman Winesap Apples, sliced,
(if peelings are tender, do not remove)
Apple juice Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Slice apples and place in a large pot. Add apple juice and about 2 cups of water (depending on the size batch of apples) and bring just to the top of the apples. Add sugar to taste (depending on the size of the batch and sweetness of the apples) Simmer on medium heat until tender and a saucy consistency.

You know they say...AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY and studies have supported that it does add years to your life. Well I don't know if it is Dot's nurturing personality or if it comes from her occupation as a nurse or maybe they just love apples, but if you have ever shared a meal with them you know it is a rare occasion for them to sit down to a meal and not have Dot's cooked apples on the table!
