In saucepan:
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp cornstarch
1 egg yolk (separated)

In mixer:
1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks)
1 egg white (separated)

Directions:
Directions:
Bring milk, sugar, cornstarch and egg yolk to a boil in a sauce while stirring until it is thick like custard.

Cream butter in a mixer.
Add custard one spoonful at a time to the creamed butter.
Beat egg white and add to mixer. Add vanilla.

Beat for 15 minutes with electric mixer.
